Zombie Prom:: An Amusing Musical at IST

November 22, 2012 –

It's time to make some music!

It's time for….

Zombie Prom!

Woo Hoo!!!

After weeks months of rehearsals it's show time!  Zombie Prom is a MUSICAL (yes, it's a musical!) put on by the secondary school at IST.  However, many primary school students got to be involved with it too- Annika and many of her friends got to sing in the choir. Our friend Chrissy (who is Mimi's mom) did an absolutely FANTASTIC job directing this musical!  I can't begin to tell you how much fun it was watching the show.  We had a blast!!!

Basically, the story is about a teenage couple (Toffee and Jonny).  Toffee's parents and the school principal tell her to stop seeing Jonny so he jumps into a nuclear power plant cooling tower….thus turning him into a zombie. Click here for more information about Zombie Prom.

Since tickets to Friday's showing were ALL SOLD OUT (a week prior to the show!) we had to go see the musical on Thursday evening.

I'm pretty sure that would have scared the doo doo out of me if my boyfriend came back from the dead as a zombie!

She looks like she's having fun, doesn't she?

Intermission:

You'll just have to watch it to know what happens in the end!  ;-)

The closing dance number was the entire cast doing Michael Jackson's ever-so-famous Thriller dance number….with a little Gangnam style dancing mixed in!  Oh boy, did we laugh ever so hard!!!!

Gangnam style dance moves set to Thriller music! Oh, I think I might pee my pants from laughing so hard!

Thanks for a wonderful show!

Thanks to the wonderful cast and crew- made up of students and teachers (even Ava's teacher helped) for putting on this wonderfully hilarious musical production!  It was campy and fun and kitschy in all the right ways a high school musical should be!!!

And now I'm bummed that the Friday showing is all sold out!!!  Darn!  I'd go see it again!!!!

(Annika did get a single flower- carnation- from us after Friday's showing.  And I bet she's going to take a nice, long, hard-earned nap!)
