Can it really be? Did I really not post photos from this year's musical at IST??? Shame on me!
This year the school has decided to do the The Addams Family musical!
You're familiar with The Addams Family, right? I think I read somewhere that it was originally a cartoon series which turned into a television series in the 1960s. There have also been some recent popular movies involving these unique and macabre family members. You should check out the TV series or the movies if you've never heard of it!
Annika was involved in the secondary school musical choir which was similar to her previous years involvement with the musical but more time intensive.
IST offered two showings to the public and we went to see both of them.
We're going to play "Can you spot Annika?" in these photos. Actually, I haven't confirmed if she's in all of the photos I'm posting or not (I have a feeling not). You'll just have to go check them out!
The basic storyline for this musical is that the character Wednesday has fallen in love with a "normal" boy and they've secretly become engaged. Wednesday tells her father about their engagement but pleads with him not to tell her mother, Morticia. The "normal" boy's parents are invited to dinner at the Addams' house and the entire event turns into one chaotic event after another. Lots of hilarious little tidbits engaging all members of the Addams Family are strewn throughout the musical. I think my favorite characters were Lurch and Uncle Fester.

The face that says it all! Such joy! Such happiness! Such excitement! (okay, maybe not so much???)
After Friday night's performance:
