Happy American Thanksgiving!!!

A group of All-American friends invited our family to join them in celebrating Thanksgiving, potluck style.  YAY!!!  Sam and Jerred kindly hosted this party at their beautiful home.

We did have the ubiquitous American turkey!  I mean, how can you possibly celebrate Thanksgiving without a turkey (okay Mark…or venison roast)?????  I'm so glad they can be found here in China (though, not exactly easy or cheap).

We brought pumpkin pies and a veggie salad.  Mmmmm!!!!

Thanksgiving-1

Mark and I enjoying some of Dave's homemade eggnog. Can't buy eggnog so we have to make it! 🙂

The kids waiting in the Chow Line…as is common with pot-luck meals this one was served buffet-style (as in: serve yourself):

The Turkey. (grilled by Dave)

Thanksgiving-8

Annika and Clair.

After dinner and a few rounds of stiff drinks courtesy of the Mixed Drink Master (Jill) the adults played a game called Catch Phrase.  Something I'm completely lousy at!  LOL!!!!  We split into two teams and the other team whooped our team's butt!

Thanksgiving-10

Thanksgiving-11

I love the pretty table decorations and paper lanterns. Isn't Sam talented?  (she's the one that created the table setting)

Thanksgiving-12

We stuck the autumn shaped confetti to our foreheads so that we could keep track who was on what team- acorns or pumpkins?

Thanksgiving-13

Jill …our resident cake pop diva and mixed drink master!

Thanks guys for a MEGA, ULTRA fun afternoon!!!!

Oh…and did you pick up on the fact that we celebrated Thanksgiving on SATURDAY???  Yep…several days after the "real" Thanksgiving date (which is always on a Thursday).  I also missed shopping Black Friday for the first time in a several years.  I really missed spending time with my sister-in-law, Beth, who usually joins me on the shopping frenzy which happens on Black Friday.

We really do miss our family!!!
