Our little vacation house in Turnau

December 18, 2012-

Just wanted to share with you photos from inside our little vacation house in Turnau.  It was the cutest- most fairy-tale, alp-style cottage.

The living room (in the main bedroom):

The bedroom part of the main living area.  It had floral curtains that helped to enclose the bed and cozy it up:

Lots and lots of wood (wood paneling and custom wood cabinets)

Looking out the windows from the main living area:

The girls had their own separate living quarters (with their own corner bench, WC and shower).  NICE!!!!:

Annika arranging her things on her side of the bed.

Annika's stash of things….snow globe from Munich. Violin and sailboat from hobby and craft store in Muerzzuschlag.

Another view of the girls' room:

Lots of wood paneling and a mirror that looked like it had heart lebkuchen cookies on it (it's wooden).

I loved the floral fabric of the curtains, the wood paneling, plain white bedding (and down comforters to snuggle under).

The corner bench area connected to the girls' bedroom….the curtain across the doorway separated the spaces nicely.

Looking down the hallway into the main living area.

The main bathroom (there was a separate WC).  We loved the heated towel rack!  We also LOVED that we got hot water when we wanted it!  Usually we have to wait 15-20 minutes before we get any hot water to come out here in China.

Heated towel rack= very nice thing!

This house also had a tiny kitchen (a room off the main living area) and the front door had a very old fashioned lock- it used a skeleton key.

As is usually the case, the photos don't do it justice.  This space suited us well- plus it was warm and inviting.
