September 23, 2012-
I've been solo parenting this past week. Mark is back in the USA on a business trip. So….we are doing a lot of this:
Isn't technology amazing???? We're sitting half-away around the world from Mark and can we can almost face-to-face.
What's not so cool about technology is our stupid internet keeps jumping all over the place. Some days I can easily update the blog and other days it takes DAYS to do the same sort of blog post. I've also signed myself up for a self-paced digital scrapbooking class using Photoshop Elements via Jessica Sprague but I've been pulling my hair out trying to get it to work. We're supposed to have fast enough internet service but guess what….we don't. GRRRRRRRRRrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!! And it feels like I've got more frustrations now that they've supposedly upgraded our internet service to a higher speed. I've tried all week to do the four lessons that are in my class and I've managed to watch one.

I'm guessing I'm being too sensitive but the other day my ayi did something that just erked me. There were some men coming over to do some work – which I knew nothing about!? And she tried to explain to me in Chinese what they were doing I obviously couldn't understand her and told her so. She took the workers to where they needed to be and I could hear her laughing and saying "boo ming bye" and "boo jer dau" (my phonetic spelling for you…not Chinese pinyin) those phrases mean "don't understand" and "don't know". I really think she was making fun of me!!! And I have to tell you, I'm not in the best mood lately and that just really got to me. How rude to laugh at your employer!!!! It really ticked me off. (afterwards via the translator I learned that these men were here to check the in-floor heating system)
And while I'm on the topic of our ayi….we did have her cook for us once a week but I've finally axed that from her duty list. You wouldn't believe how much oil they use to cook with!!! BLECH! Nobody needs that much grease and oil in their diets!!!!! I do LOVE many different kinds of Chinese dishes- don't misunderstand me. I just don't need my food swimming in oil. Ewwww.
And another thing about ayis….did you know that I have to remind her every once in a while to use dish soap to wash the dishes? Can you believe they don't wash their dishes with dish soap??????? Doesn't everybody who lives in a mostly civilized society know to use soap???????
Can you tell I'm feeling a little bit crabby lately????!! LOL!!!!

We're coming up to the Mid Autumn Chinese Festival -also called Golden Week- in one week. Guess where we're headed?
The Japanese Alps and Kyoto!!!!! 🙂
