May 15, 2013-
Oh boy. Annika woke up this morning saying she doesn't feel well. Now, in the past I've disregarded that statement and it's always been met with harsh consequences (ie. having to clean up vomit from places I really didn't want to be cleaning vomit from. blech). However, she's not showing any signs of being sick AND she doesn't have a fever. Oh gosh. Should I keep her home? Or could she be nervous about the ISCOT Spring Soccer Tournament happening today after school????
I don't know. She usually doesn't get nervous about those kinds of things but she has mentioned it. Is she okay to go to school or isn't she???? Ack! Well, I think I'll send her to school and write a note to her teachers. I really don't want her to miss this opportunity to play soccer!
ISCOT spring soccer tournament at IST:
Let's see, who all competed in this tournament? There was IST, TIS, Teda International and…another school. Oops. It seems like I've forgotten who that other team was.
Annika is still feeling pretty lethargic but her teacher did she perked up this afternoon. She also went to the nurse's office. Oops. (no vomit)
Woo hoo! School is out and the tournament is about to begin! There are four schools competing at different levels. Annika is in the Grade 3,4 & 5 level. Let's check in and see how they're doing:
Annika is playing defense. She thinks it's a boring position but I think that's where a lot of the important action takes place.
The girls played really short games…I think the games were only twenty minutes long (or less!). Several different teams played and here Annika's team got to take a short break:
Several of Annika's friends made lots of posters cheering them on. Naturally, little sister got in on the action and helped!
WOO HOO!!!!! Way to go IST Girls! They won their division!!!!!!!!!!!
A super happy & relieved Annika (with Ava & Chae Rin in the background):
I'm so impressed with you girls! You worked hard and you did it! Annika even got to try a short stint in an offensive position thanks to her kind coach. I think she felt more comfortable in the defensive position but she *really* wanted to play offense so I'm glad she was able to try it out. Thanks, Coach!
Eeep. Remember me telling you she wasn't feeling well???? Ummmm….well. Let's just put it this way: she was telling the truth (as she, thankfully, always does). Poor Annika! This Wednesday night is NOT going to go down as our favorite night! (blech) I'm truly amazed that she played as well as she did when she was clearly not feeling well. Annika, I'm impressed! You did superb!!!!
I'm not done with this post…just checking to see if the email subscription service actually works! The email subscription service DOES work! Woo hoo!!!!
