Easter 2016 – Part Zwei (2)

28 March 2016-

Mark and Ava arrived VERY late on Easter Sunday.  Despite having a fever and not feeling 100%, Ava managed to finish the pool work for her junior scuba diving certification in Shanghai.  Way to go Ava!  (That should be in another post)

Anyway, due to their late arrival we weren't able to celebrate Easter on Sunday so we've conveniently moved Easter to the following Monday.

I'm so thankful and relieved that the Easter Bunny received the memo notifying him of our change of plans.  whew!

The girls got to search for Easter baskets filled with chocolate goodies and candies before school.

IMG_8373Ava still had a mild fever, a sore throat, and she was feeling really tired from her momentous weekend adventures so I opted to keep her home from school for the day.

Two out of the four goodie-filled baskets:

Did I miss something????  Is today pretend-to-be-a-pirate-using-plastic-eggs-and-wear-floral-wreaths-on-your-head day??? (and I shouldn't forget about painting your face with Mom's watercolor paints).  Do I have silly girls??  Why, yes.  IMG_8382

Easter dinner consisted of ham, twice-baked potatoes (with bacon and brie cheese!), green beans.  The star of the show was the lemon meringue pie.  Which, sadly, there's no photo of its existence.  Oops. Seriously though – it was fantastic!IMG_8396A nice meal – even if it was a day late. 🙂

I'm hoping to turn our Easter eggs into deviled eggs tomorrow.  I love deviled eggs!!!!

Happy Easter everyone!  I hope you had a wonderful day!  I hope you got to spend it with loved ones. Or goonie ones.  We sure did! (spend our day with loved goonie girls!)
