Dolphin Watching at Lovina Beach, Bali

7 April 2016 –

We're up early.  Super freaking early! However we're driving over to Lovina Beach this morning to watch the dolphins.  The manager of Sumberkima Hill told us that it'd take about 1.5 hours to drive to Lovina Beach from our current location.  We had to be there between 6 and 6:30 am which meant leaving around 4:30am.

Was it worth it?

Oooooh…..yeah!

There were lots of other motor boats jostling for a viewing space…waiting for the dolphins to show up. It was quite amusing – as soon as a pod of dolphins was spotted the motors would start up and the boats would chase the dolphins.  This went on for a couple of hours.  I'm not sure I actually approve of chasing dolphins with motor boats but I honestly hate sounding judgmental. Perhaps the dolphins are having a good laugh at us humans trying to catch a glimpse of them. IMG_5680

Time for breakfast.  We were happy that there was a hotel at Lovina Beach that was serving breakfast.  We sat outside (observing a rather large group of young adults eating breakfast and getting ready to head out on a supposed snorkeling trip with dolphins) and enjoyed a leisurely breakfast. I need a cup of coffee. Or two.IMG_5787

Now we're off to see a waterfall. 🙂
