Christmas Day: 25 December 2014
We're heading into the "big city of Veitsch" (HA! Very funny…this is a small town) where we'll eat our Christmas lunch (main meal for the day) at a restaurant. Check out this row of colorful houses:
Opa, is this your favorite restaurant in Veitsch? Opa ist das dein lieblings Restaurant in Veitsch??
Some of us got some yummy soup (I don't think I'll ever tire of eating frittaten soupe) while some of us are waiting for the main course. Ava and I ordered Wiener Schnitzel. :-)
Opa before tucking into his Christmas meal:
After the big, heavy meal we hopped back into our gigantic van but instead of driving back to Opa's place we zipped up to a place called Brunalm (up in the mountains). Normally this place would be LOADED with snow and tons of skiers but as you can see there is very little snow.
That didn't stop *some* people from having a snow ball fight!
A view down the mountain, into the valley (it's quite cloudy):
Run Mark, run!Time to head back to Opa's place!
Ava really wanted a fountain pen for Christmas….and she got her wish! She's practicing using it in a notebook that Opa had while all of us enjoy a tray of Austrian Christmas cookies. Yummy!!!!
Reading the silly story that Daddy wrote:
Daddy's drawing…."Kernel Mivin". Ava practiced backwards handwriting of sorts.Daddy wrote a silly story for the girls:
