Birthday Dinner for Four Lovely Ladies

Apparently September is a VERY popular birth month!!!  Who knew???  (when I think about it- it does makes sense)

Anyway, four lovely, sweet ladies all had their birthdays (nearly) one day after another.  Of course that's cause for celebration!!!!

On Friday night several families gathered in an upstairs room at Din Tai Fung restaurant in Tianjin for a fabulous meal of steamed dumplings and other goodies. 

Jennifer and her family at the restaurant arrived first at the restaurant so saved us all by ordering the dishes.  THANK YOU!!!!  

Yowzers! Have you ever seen such a ginonormous table?? It seats 20 guests.  

Families attending the dinner (other than us): Jennifer & Brian, Debbie & Croydon, Machi & Mark, Mary & Andrew, Holly & Kevin, Frances & Michael, Kathy & Dave + lots of kids!

This room was awesome and great for our crowd….the kids had their own space to play, laugh and eat:

Bamboo steamers loaded with steamed dumplings (jaozi)….all with different fillings. And all.so.good!!!!

What do you know!!! A vegetarian bird! This one is made of carrots and I think it's got a cucumber base. It's guarding the Peking Duck dish.

It was a great night of chatting with friends and eating and eating and eating dumplings.  By the end of the night we were STUFFED!!!!
