The PFO (Parent Faculty Organization) moms from IST put on a fantastic Asian bazaar recently featuring many of the Asian cultures- with music, vendors, food and lots of activities for the kids to do. Great way to spend a lazy Saturday afternoon!!!
Probably the most popular vendor at the bazaar was this gentleman….
He created beautiful and colorful paintings of people's names. And he was amazingly quick! Can you tell who the above scroll belongs to?
And here he is getting started on Ava's scroll.
Annika and her friends working on origami creations with Ikuko (she's a mom from Japan).
I'm watching Annika and Ikuko create some tiny origami pieces.
Lots of families enjoyed the bazaar.
Ava and Seobin working on their own origami creations.
More origami! Cousin Lily would have LOVED this booth!!!!
A Japanese version of pin the tail on the donkey???!?
Hey! Annika managed to get both eyes, nose and mouth in the right places!!!!
Ava waited, waited, waited, waited, waited, waited and …………..
…………….waited very patiently to get a henna tattoo on her hand. This booth was VERY popular as well (and the lady who did the tattoos did such a beautiful job! Nothing like the henna tattoo I got a year or so ago that resembled a blob of nothing).
Finally!!!!! Her patience (and mine!) paid off!!!!! (Both Annika and Mark had already left to go home.) She finally got a turn to get that henna tattoo she REALLY wanted.
Ooooooo!!!!! Love that henna tattoo, Ava!
Note for next time getting a henna tattoo: wear gloves or clean socks to bed so that you don't fall asleep with your face next to your painted hand. You can ask Ava why I mention this. 😉

What a great day! Those are beautiful name paintings. And that tattoo, well –wow! even up her finger. Now we need to see a picture of the “morning after”!
