A brief view of Delhi

September 2016 –

We have less than one day to explore Delhi.  Certainly not enough time to see everything but we'll get glimpse of a view important sights in Delhi.

Qutab Minar – a tower made of sandstone and marble

IMG_6516Around 73m tall.

Building was started in 1193.

WOW!

Did I mention that Indians seem to be universally friendly??? While visiting this special sight, there were many groups of people that wanted to talk to us and have their photos taken with us.  Here are some young men, I think cadets posing with Mark:

This particular sight seemed nearly abandoned.  Many of the inlaid semi precious stones have been removed (vandalism?):IMG_6586

Just a cool wooden door:

What do you suppose is the difference between tonic water and Indian tonic water?  Both make excellent gin and tonics!
