Did you know that we have our very own Super Cute Animal Expert??????
The kindergarten classes at IST put on a delightfully fun and entertaining presentation at the Friday morning school assembly recently. They got to share with students from nursery through grade 2 (and parents!!) what they'd learned in their Unit of Inquiry (UOI)….which was all about animals! I really appreciated how each of the students got to participate. Ava and her friend Jin A got to be the Super Cute Animal Experts! Ava practiced her lines at home over and over…and over and over this past week. ;-)
Jin A's mom told me afterwards that she was happy that Ava was there with Jin A as she didn't think Jin A would have gotten up the courage to speak in front of a crowd by herself. Ava wasn't the least bit frightened! (are you surprised???)
You might want to turn up the volume to hear Ava in this little video clip. Her mic wasn't working properly.

Do you think the kindergarteners had any fun???!?
After the assembly, the parents of the kindergarteners were invited to a Parent Tea. The kindergartners got to share what they'd been working on in their Unit of Inquiry. We got to eat lots of yummy treats and snacks. Plus we got to chat with the other kindergarteners and their parents. I got to meet several of Ava's new friends and their moms.
I learned that after a class finishes a UOI it will usually host a Parent Tea to show the parents what the students have learned in that unit. I'm looking forward to the next Parent Tea!!!!
