Annika in The Animal Band- an adventure in Puppetry

Remember a few weeks back where Ava participated in a Kindergarten presentation (she was a super cute animal expert)???

Well, now it's Annika's turn!

The third grade classes at IST put on a show for the primary school students and parents!  And WOW! It truly was a FUN show to watch!!!!

The two third grade classes split up into several groups- each of which did a unique performance for the assembly.

One of the groups did silly riddles, there was a Talking Dogs sketch, a Chinese stage play called The Monkey (or…how the monkey got the red bottom) and a stage play called The Strange Shoe.  They used just enough props and costumes to help visualize without going overboard.  ALL the kids did an amazing job and they had obviously spent a long time practicing and rehearsing….and it paid off!!!!

Officially, the presentation was called Grade 3 Performing Arts Assembly– which, I think, makes it sound like a ho-hum sort of thing. Well, this thing was anything but ordinary!

Check out the photos and tell me if you think if you agree with me….

Annika's Group did a puppet show….called The Animal Band.  They performed the Town Musicians of Bremen (an old German folktale).

Annika is naturally the cat.  (Annika is REALLY into cats lately).  Her group had recorded the vocals for their skit beforehand so they could get it just right…

What did the hedgehog say when it bumped into the cactus?  "Hi Honey!"

Ha ha ha ha!!!!

*And now that this is all done I'm sure their teachers can breathe a sigh of relief!!!
