Watching a wedding from our doorstep

Soooo….. What did you see out your windows on Sunday afternoon????

Well, we got a very brief glance at a Chinese wedding!  With dragons.  And drums.  And rose petals.  And lots of colorful confetti bombs and loud firecrackers!!!  How's that for a fun thing to see out your window on a lazy Sunday afternoon?????

Seriously though.  We noticed something must have been up at our neigbor's house since their fence was lined with colorful balloons in the morning.  And then we really thought something must be up when they started to light off firecrackers.  The Chinese sure love their loud firecrackers!  (I think it's to frighten the bad or evil spirits away)

Thank goodness we were standing close to the window as the wedding party left the house because I've always wanted to see dragons in action!  It's too bad the procession only lasted a few minutes as I would have loved to watch more of the dragons dancing and moving.

And naturally, the kids LOVED the colorful confetti that littered the ground.  Who can resist???

And sharing confetti with friends is even better!  We got to visit briefly with new friends while the girls played.
