August 25, 2012-
Daddy is gone…to Alaska.
Guess that means we'll have a Girls-Only trip to Ikea! :-)
We promise we won't go crazy. Or at least not too crazy shopping!
๐
See??? They DO have McDonalds here. And cars and trucks blocking the road. What is a traffic light anyway??? Wait…are you actually supposed to stop on a red light???????
Let's "do lunch" first! I always feel better about shopping on a full tummy!
Check out these sweets:
Okay….Off to Shop!!!!
Oh.My.Goodness….why are there soooooo many people here today????
Holy schmoly- so many people!!!! What's with the couple in matching clothes??? How did they find matching green and white striped pants for sale???
This IKEA may look three stories tall but all the displays are on one floor (the top floor) with two very convoluted mazes paths to lead you through all the displays. It's a darn good thing that they have several maps WITH ENGLISH to help when you get lost- which you will (get lost in the maze that is).
Trying to find a particular fabric….it's white with black print and it looks rather like coloring sheets. As a matter of fact, we bought some a few months ago and have been coloring it with permanent markers. We were hoping to buy that fabric for friends today. Sadly, they were out of it.
1 RMB for a cone of soft serve vanilla ice cream!!!! Have you ever seen such a deal? It's less that $1 USD!!!!
Ah, this is the gate to our compound (the one on the left without the red arch and yellow balloons) that is closest to our house. This gate has been frustratingly closed for the past several months only to be opened again due to construction at the front gate to the O.C. compound. So, it's sort of a back door to our compound but it's closer to our house. Too bad they only plan on keeping it open for one month.
Looky looky at what I picked up at Ikea: a sample box of different kinds of schnapps. I'll have to try these once Daddy comes back from Alaska!
