Ice Skating at Galaxy Mall

December 31, 2012-

Whoa!!!

Are we really at December 31??????  How did this year disappear so fast???

Our friends- Chrissie, Mimi and Ngfaun (I'm pretty sure I spelled that wrong- some day I'll get it right!) invited us to ice skating with them at the newly opened indoor mall (Galaxy Mall).

Since it's newly opened everything still a) still works and b) isn't trashed.

What are you waiting for???  Let's go skating!!!

Mimi, Annika and Ava trying to stay vertical on the ice. They had a ton of fun scooting across the ice on their rental skates. Fell a few times but had no trouble getting back up and going at it again!

Before we went skating Ava was absolutely convinced she could do it.  While I was happy about her optimism I was also nervous because our adventure in skiing in Austria ended poorly.  Guess what???  She did great!  She really did!  I was quite proud of her for getting up and trying again and again and again.  It's all about attitude!!!

PS.  I actually managed to stay vertical without falling.  It's only been twenty years or more since I've put on a pair of ice skates!!!

Surprisingly few people skating at the moment. I bet that will change soon!

Woowee!!! There goes Annika!

This mall is new…and not all the stores are open yet.  Hello? Starbucks???  Could you pick up the pace and open up???? PLEEEEEEASE???????  However, Chrissie discovered that one of their favorite Chinese restaurants is open here:

Annika, Mimi and Ava. Loving that pineapple dish! The pineapple is coated in HOT melted sugar. They give you a small bowl of water to dip the hot pieces in to. Mmmmm!!!

Even Ava loved it!!!

The Chinese food was more like the Chinese food we get back home in the USA.  It's gooooood!!!!!

Our tummies are all full! Extra bonus- it's a cheap place too! We are SOOOOO coming back here!!!!

Thank you to our wonderful friends for suggesting this mega fun outing!!!!  It certainly chased away the winter blues!!!

  1. Hi There! Checking in to see how things are going for you in China! We are now back in the States since June. It has been so nice to be back. Much easier transition than I expected. I love the name of your blog. So cute! I hope all is well.
